Welcome to Discovering Peace Counseling. I’m Delseta, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the Founder of Discovering Peace Counseling. My passion for wellness, recovery, and healing is deeply rooted in my personal journey through stress, burnout, and relationships. I’ve navigated life’s challenges by finding coping strategies like hiking, crafting, going to the beach, and meditation, and by maintaining healthy relationships, drawing from my own long-term marriage. Facing loss and trauma has only strengthened my commitment to mental health and wellness.

 

I’m dedicated to helping others manage stress, burnout, relationship struggles, trauma, depression, and anxiety. My goal is to support you in finding healing, restoration, and an improved quality of life. While stress, conflicts, and emotional challenges are part of life, there are effective ways to manage and process them, leading to a more fulfilling and balanced life.
I approach therapy as a collaborative and tailored process, focusing on each individual and couple’s unique needs. My commitment is to provide a safe, supportive space where we can work together to develop solutions that address your challenges and foster healing and growth. Whether we’re exploring your thoughts and behaviors to create positive changes, incorporating mindfulness techniques for relaxation and alertness, or increasing awareness of internal sensations to develop self-regulation skills, our work will be customized to support you best. No single approach fits everyone, so we’ll discuss what strategies will most effectively enhance your well-being and quality of life.

 

I believe in progress, not perfection, and that every step forward—big or small—deserves celebration. I also believe in harnessing your unique strengths to improve your well-being and quality of life. Together, we will tap into these strengths during our time together.

 

As someone deeply aware of the impact of oppression and racism on BIPOC communities, including my own, I am committed to supporting and strengthening these communities. My dedication to racial equality and justice drives me to help others heal and empower themselves, whether they have experienced racial injustice and trauma directly or indirectly.
