Hi, I’m Delseta Robinson, LMFT — Founder of Discovering Peace Counseling.
At Discovering Peace Counseling, my mission is to empower individuals and couples to create transformative, positive changes and foster inner peace in their lives. I believe that healing is not just about surviving — it’s about restoring your resilience, rebuilding trust with yourself, and creating a life rooted in hope and authenticity.
My passion for wellness, recovery, and healing is deeply connected to my own journey through stress, burnout, and relationships. Through experiences of navigating loss, trauma, and the challenges of maintaining balance, I’ve learned firsthand the power of healing practices like hiking, crafting, mindfulness, nurturing healthy relationships, and finding peace through faith. These personal experiences fuel my deep commitment to supporting others who are on their own healing path.

I specialize in helping BIPOC professionals navigate anxiety, hidden emotional exhaustion, the lasting impacts of trauma, and the complexities of neurodivergence — including emotional regulation and executive functioning challenges. I understand how easy it is to look “put together” on the outside while quietly battling overwhelm, self-doubt, and lingering wounds from the past.
As a Black woman and therapist, I honor the complex ways race, resilience, faith, and identity shape your lived experience — and I create a space where all of those parts of you are seen, respected, and supported.
I’m deeply committed to supporting and strengthening BIPOC communities, while acknowledging and addressing the impact systemic oppression and racism have on mental health and wellness.
I approach therapy as a collaborative, culturally aware, and trauma-informed process. My goal is to create a supportive space where your identity, values, and experiences are respected — and where we can work together to build practical strategies for growth and resilience.
I believe in progress, not perfection. Every step forward — big or small — is worth celebrating. We’ll tap into your unique strengths, honor your lived experiences, and craft a path toward healing that feels authentic to you.
Because no single approach fits everyone, our work together will be tailored to your specific needs. I draw from a variety of evidence-based and evidence-informed practices, including:
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): To process and heal from traumatic memories.
Internal Family Systems (IFS): To explore and harmonize the different parts of yourself.
Brainspotting: To process deep-seated trauma and emotional pain.
Somatic Experiencing: To help you work through trauma stored in the body and restore a sense of calm.
Mindfulness Practices: To cultivate presence, reduce stress, and strengthen resilience.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): To challenge and shift unhelpful thought patterns.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): To accept what is out of your control and commit to living a fuller life.
Gottman Method for Couples: To strengthen relationships through evidence-based communication and trust-building skills.
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT): To deepen emotional awareness and create stronger, more secure connections.
